Specimen Required: Patient Prep: Patient should be fasting for 12-15 hours.

Collect: Serum separator tube or plain red.

Specimen Preparation: Transfer 1 mL serum to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 0.5 mL) Store and ship refrigerated. DO NOT FREEZE

Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.

Remarks: Patient should be fasting for 12-15 hours. Store and ship refrigerated. DO NOT FREEZE.

Unacceptable Conditions: Body fluids (refer to Chylomicron Screen, Body Fluid, ARUP test code 0098457). Heparinized specimens. Frozen specimens.

Stability (collection to initiation of testing): After separation from cells: Ambient: 24 hours; Refrigerated: 10 days; Frozen: Unacceptable
