In 1984, a group of University of Utah pathologists found a way to serve more patients by expanding and operating as a nonprofit regional reference laboratory. Over the next four decades, this laboratory would become a trustworthy, attentive, forward-thinking partner to hospitals and labs nationwide while still serving as the primary laboratory for the University of Utah Hospital and Health System clinics.
