Bryan is a person driven by curiosity and a desire to learn. He taught himself to make fancy cocktails, studied astronomy, and immersed himself in biology, physics, physiology, anatomy, botany, and microbiology—not all for purely academic reasons. His career at ARUP has also been fueled by his desire to learn. He started at ARUP as a medical technologist in the Clinical Toxicology Laboratory, where his background as a pharmacy technician proved valuable. Amid the preparation of tests and instrument maintenance, Bryan found his passion for working with data and spreadsheets. He learned coding, programming, and database skills, leaving the lab after seven years to work in information technology in ARUP’s Clinical Systems department before joining Healthcare Advisory Services. He loves building compelling dashboards and reports to help clients learn about their own performance. “A picture is worth a thousand words, and sometimes an effective chart or graph can illuminate important information in the same way,” he said. Bryan finds even greater satisfaction working with the broad team of consulting experts to make that data actionable for clients. A native of Utah, Bryan earned a degree in chemistry from the University of Utah. He and his partner have been together for seven years and have two dogs.
