Sandy Richman, MBA, C(ASCP)
Director, Healthcare Advisory Services
Ask me about: Revenue cycle management, financial analysis, strategic planning
Sandy has played a central role in building ARUP Healthcare Advisory Services from the ground up. He led the group that expanded services beyond a sole focus on outreach market assessments, and over the years he has helped shape the team into a diverse group of experts from every corner of the lab. “Each person brings a unique perspective, and that adds credibility to what we do,” he said. Sandy joined ARUP as a laboratory technologist after earning a degree in biology and chemistry from Westminster College in Salt Lake City. The hands-on lab assays appealed to him and drew him in, and Sandy worked in ARUP’s manual endocrinology department before accepting a position within the quality department, supporting the anatomic pathology operations at the University of Utah Hospital and the Huntsman Cancer Hospital. He completed an MBA at the University of Utah and pursued opportunities in revenue cycle management and strategic planning consulting outside of ARUP. Sandy came back to ARUP in 2016 to help build its client offerings. His goal, he said, is to “give the client the tools to make them look like a rockstar in their organization.” Sandy is certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a technologist in chemistry and is an active member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives. Sandy and his wife have two children and spend their free time hiking and camping in the Uinta Mountains.
