Ethan Wong
Data Consultant II
Ask me about: Analytics and data visualization, automation, data pipelining, data wrangling, and data cleaning
Reading a book or watching a movie about a detective fictional character is one of Ethan’s hobbies. He finds the best part of the story is when the detective uses his wits and improvised gadgets to outsmart his arch nemesis, then makes his punchline in a foreign language. Not all of us can be like that in real life. So, Ethan decided to be a detective in the world of healthcare data analytics, known as a data analyst. But it’s not exactly because of that detective genre that he became an analyst. Ethan naturally enjoys unfolding mysteries and technology. That’s why he enjoys investigating data outliers and anomalies, observing historical trends, and writing programs to streamline processes. Ethan enjoys learning different languages and being proficient in three Asian languages, created a multilingual translating module that translated technical electronic terms from English to Chinese and to Japanese while obtaining a degree in Information Systems from Brigham Young University—Hawaii. While away from ARUP, Ethan further enhanced his skill set in data analytics and gained skill sets in the extract, transform, and load (ETL) process and custom front-end developer user interface. In his spare time, Ethan goes hiking and camping with his wife and daughter. He enjoys playing basketball, volleyball, swimming, and table tennis. Additionally, Ethan enjoys painting, playing guitar, and calligraphy.
