ARUP Laboratories has created a new ARUP Connect™ feature that will enable you to provide missing required test information directly in Connect—before the test becomes an Except. This feature, called Quality Checks, will launch on July 23, 2024, and will initially include two FibroMeter tests:
2005661 Liver Fibrosis, Chronic Viral Hepatitis (Echosens FibroMeter)
2012521 Liver Fibrosis, Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (Echosens)
Over time, ARUP will add new tests to Quality Checks based on client feedback and opportunities for the greatest impact.
What You'll See in Connect
When Quality Checks launches, you will notice a change to the Pending tab for the Order Status and Results screen in Connect. A Quality Check button will appear between the Except button and the Test Delay button. This button appears for all clients; however, if you don’t currently send FibroMeter testing to ARUP, the Quality Check number will remain at zero.
Benefits
- Helps improve patient care by reducing the possibility the test will be placed on Except.
- Makes it easier to provide required test information after the order has been placed.
- Mitigates the need to handwrite required test information on the paperwork included with the specimen. Handwritten notes can be difficult to decipher and may be inadvertently overlooked.
